So it’s January the first month of 2018 and I have been missing with the updates for most of the fourth quarter of 2017, but to be 100% there is no one reason I can pinpoint for the absence. The Christmas break was much needed to refresh and recharge those batteries. Not sure if the period for wishing everyone a happy new year has elapsed, but I will do ...

There goes August like it didn't happen. Time to start checking if that old fall and winter jacket can handle another season.  August was a good month full of relaxation and fun, which included a trip to Atlanta where my family and I got to see the much raved about "eclipse", just a pity it had to end. ...

For many young men, Saturday mornings are sacred and reserved for recreational activities. It’s the time they use to catch up on video games, play football basketball or unwind from the stresses of the week. But for four young men, old boys of Calabar High School, it’s the time they have used, over the past four years, to tutor present students in mathematics and impart words of wisdom. ...

Well, October is done and winter is here, which oddly is my favorite season. There is something about the cold and snow which I always find amazing. October was another decent month of steady dividends and a month where  I added a few more positions to my portfolio, namely FTN, HPF, PME, HEN.UN and FCS.UN. Both FTN and HPF were added late so the dividends will not show up until ...

Small Change Challenge #SCC is in full effect and the dividends for September are in. The dividends aren’t much as was expected because of the nature of the account My aim is to get the dividends to a point where the incoming dividends are enough to purchase three(3) of each stock monthly, then I will try to add different names to the portfolio. ...

Well, there goes September and it’s finally beginning to feel like fall, bye bye extended summer. Time to start dusting off those old winter coats and thinking about those winter tires, but no worries because it’s about to be “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”. The festive season talk is for another time and another blog because it’s dividend reporting time, so let’s get straight to it. ...

Blessing Loom, let's start off by saying this is another investment plan that I place in the list of ‘not for me” right there beside day trading. I have been approached by a few people asking me to join their “Loom” both in-person and via social media, damn you facebook, and my reply is always the same, no thanks “not for me”. As I always state I am no ...

It’s been awhile since I did an update on the Small Change Challenge #SCC (click here for the explanation of #SCC) and I think one is long overdue. Let's start off by saying AIM is no longer apart of my #SCC portfolio as their separation with Air Canada cause them to cut dividends and canceled the dividend payout which was announced. ...
