Insufficient savings rate This one’s just math. If you’re saving 10% of your paycheck starting from when you get your first job at age 22, assuming a 5% annual ROI, you’ll be able to retire in 51 working years (age 73). If you save 15%, you’ll be able to retire at age 65. If you save 50%, you’ll be able to retire at age 39. Don’t overthink it, this is straight ...

What is this about? – Updated 9/14/17 So most of you know I do monthly cash give-aways (on Instagram and YouTube). I’ve done a total of (7) $500 give-aways so far this year! But I want to try something different this time around: The top 3 commenters on my blog will have the option of getting the brand new iPhone X. OR $1000 in cash, instead of the phone. Your choice (cash will be paid ...

You’ve probably heard the statistic that the general population is far more afraid of public speaking than they are of even dying. Is that unbelievable or what?!?! So if I asked a group of you the following question: Can I get a show of hands which you’d prefer, from these two radically different options? Door #1, we have public speaking! Aaaaaaaaand door #2 we have… Turns out we have death! Death, behind door #2! So which is ...

According to a survey conducted by GOBankingRates, here in America, roughly 41% of men, and 56% of women report living paycheck to paycheck. Additionally, 52% of men and a mind-blowing 69% of women report not having enough to cover just 6 months’ worth of expenses (the golden rule for emergency savings)! What this means is that one little blip in employment, or a sudden unforeseen expense like a car repair bill ...

I have chronic anxiety. To the point that I have trouble breathing sometimes. When I’m having these “episodes” (sounds so corny, I’m cringing while I’m typing this), I try to consciously take in deep breaths, but I feel like I can only get about 80% of my lung capacity. ARRRrrghhh! It’s so frustrating and debilitating at times, that I’ve gone to the doctor 4x in the past year to get ...

Today I have a special guest post by my friend and fellow PF blogger, Rob Andersen, over at Mustard Seed Money. Enjoy! I have encountered many people who believe that credit cards are evil.  Even when I argue the benefits of credit cards, such as online protection online, extended warranties, and cash back rewards, I can never convince them.  So now, I just stay quiet and nod.  That’s because I’ve found ...

Like most guys and gals out there, I grew up playing video games. To the point I used to dream about becoming a pro-gamer and making millions like Faker senpai, doing what I enjoy. Although back then it was Starcraft, Counterstrike, and Warcraft III. So I was emulating players like BoxeR and Grubby. I’m going to lay out a case on why I am absolutely convinced that playing video games gave me a ...

It’s been a little over a month and a half since I started my diet and fitness routine. Here’s my previous fitness journal entry, with a picture of my progress: Fitness Journal Entry | 05 But since I posted that journal entry, I made a HUGE change to my dietary regimen. On 8/15 I started on the Ketogenic Diet; so it has been roughly 2 weeks since I’ve started. What exactly is the Ketogenic ...

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m a futurist. Here’s a post I wrote a while back on why I think people everywhere will end up receiving free money from the government, regardless of whether or not they work, and with zero requirements (why universal basic income is inevitable). Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is adamant about this, saying that technology will eventually replace most, if ...
