Not as great of a jump as last month but I’m happy to be in the positive with the flat market.  One bonus is that this month I got my tax return back which is great!  I just love getting cheques from the government. My dividend income for the month was just around $300, which is the lowest of the monthly dividend income of 2017 but hopefully this will improve.  My ...

And just like that, half the year is over already.  The first half of this year has really gone by quickly, I think in part because we are so busy preparing for baby.  As with every personal finance resolution I make for myself, I usually get a bit nervous in the beginning of the year creating these goals because I worry that I won’t be able to achieve them.  Some ...

Think and Grow Rich! Is one of the more well known personal finance inspirational books out there.  In fact, according to Wikipedia, it has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide as of 2015. My Impression Frankly, I didn’t really like the book.  It was an easy read though.  I did not appreciate the large capital letters throughout the chapters and I thought it was basically like “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne ...

Hello, World! I’m not new to blogging, in fact, have been doing it since 2009 (that’s like almost pre-Internet boom!).  After creating one of the top personal finance websites in Canada and selling it in 2012 because of the intense workload of graduate level education and simultaneous work (and a disintegrating long term relationship), I continued on as a writer for the blog and recently stopped in 2017 as the owners ...
