A Dime at a Time It's official...we have moved!  Posts have been moved over, along with most of the comments (sorry for those that didn't transfer) and we are officially at our new address! Woo hoo! I had really hoped that simply by visiting The Line has been Drawn you would be redirected to the new site.  Unfortunately that hasn't happened. Along with being in debt in my 50s, I also face ...

Yes, I am moving and changing my name...er, I mean my blog is!   So, when I first started The Line has been Drawn, I really didn't know exactly where it would go. All I knew was that I was finally completely ready to get out of debt once and for all and while doing so, share my journey with the world.  Having started two other blogs before and subsequently ended ...

I broke down and brought our senior dog to the vet. Today I took our elderly dog to the vet.  Although his balance was getting better, he still wasn't himself.  I hated watching him get weaker and weaker from lack of nutrition.  Although the vet couldn't' say for certain, it would appear that he is suffering from Idiopathic Peripheral Vestibular Disease, which is also referred to as Old Dog Vestibular Syndrome.  I declined to have blood work ...

"Ya know, we (all 3 of us) are scarily alike in our situations......I am so glad I am not alone." These snippets from a comment left by Patti on yesterday's post really struck a chord with me. She is 100% completely right! When my husband and I embarked on this journey to get out of debt, I felt very much alone. The majority of blogs seemed to be written by people ...

Making peace with your security gland.  Having an overactive gland is not something new to me.  My first experience was 5 years ago when lab work wasn't picking up on my thyroid gland that had gone berserk.  I could tell something wasn't right but test after test came back normal.  After having yet another routine test (well, as routine as a colonoscopy can be!) that was what finally put me over the ...

Our senior dog is holding his own! 9 lives really applies to our elderly dog.  Yesterday morning I thought for sure that today I'd be at the vet making a painful decision.  As the evening progressed, this dog who couldn't stand on his own, started to perk up.  I had been giving him syringes of water and food throughout the day, which I knew he didn't like.  At one point he stumbled his ...

Letting go is never easy... One of our elderly dogs is sick, again.  We went through this about a year ago.  He quit eating, quit drinking and became lethargic.  Our vet managed to pull him through with IV fluids, an appetite stimulant (x2) and me syringe feeding him a high caloric (and highly expensive) food.  This course of treatment also involved several equally expensive tests to determine what was wrong, which ultimately we never ...

Turns out that I was meant to be an author! Have you ever taken one of those Facebook quizzes that can supposedly guess your age, your personality, what celebrity you are most like, etc?  For the most part, I usually skip right on by these types of things.  I can probably count on one hand how many of these quizzes I've actually ever done in all my years on Facebook.  For one thing, ...
