I’m officially listed in the Rockstar Finance Directory. I figured that would give me the motivation to continue writing on at least a slightly more regular basis. If you’ve shown up from the Rockstar Finance Directory, leave a note for me saying hello!...... ...

To close out 2017 and my first year of really paying attention to my money since becoming debt free several years ago, I wanted to do a quick recap of what I’m doing to get ready for 2018.Earlier this year I set up my Vanguard rollover IRA account and finally transferred my old 401(k) from when I...... ...

If you’re just going to swap equal amount cards or cash, what’s the point of giving either' I’m really trying to get away from anyone giving me anything since I don’t have a lot of room at my apartment, and I rarely buy gifts for anyone or give gift cards....... ...

I’ve tried budget spreadsheets and online solutions before. I hate all of them. Not because they’re necessarily flawed, but because I hate spreadsheets and tracking data. I’m a business major, so you’d think I’d have a better appreciation of a spreadsheet, but I also hated my accounting an...... ...

My job is unique. I don’t have an office. I don’t work from home. I don’t sell door-to-door or try to get you to sign up for my down line in the latest MLM. I’m a roadie. Although apparently that’s offensive to some people in my industry because it harkens back to the old days of some othe...... ...

I wasn’t planning on looking at monthly spending until the start of the new year, but I figure, why wait! August is a terrible month to start looking at my spending. For one, I had basically no income this month, and I had LASIK surgery. When you look at just this month out of context, it looks li...... ...

Money was never a big topic of discussion in my family. I don’t think it was because of any kind of taboo against it, I just think it wasn’t really a big deal for us. We always seemed to have enough to do what we wanted without struggling to pay for anything. I usually got what I wanted for Chri...... ...
